Classic Car Restoration and Bodywork Specialists Torbay

With over 35 years experience since completing my apprenticeship I decided to go it alone and open the doors as Car Cosmetics Torquay. We have now been trading in Torbay since 2000 and have created a name for ourselves for our high quality craftsmanship and stunning results. Starting out as a general bodywork repair centre, we found ourselves being asked to carry out more classic car restoration work and gaining a reputation for producing quality results for many happy clients. You can see the detail and read more about some of our recent work below.

Car Recovery & Transportation

We now operate local and national car recovery using our beaver tail loader which will take all manner of cars, vans, SUV's and more. We can recover your vehicle at a reasonable cost and return to a destination of your choice or you're welcome to recover your car to our Torquay workshop where we can evaluate and quote for your car repairs or car restoration project. Daimler Sovereign 1977 4.2 LWB

This Daimler was driven from Denmark by its current owner to Torquay where he has a holiday home. On arrival with us the car was in a better than average condition for its age but in need of fairly major work to bring it back to show condition.

Jaguar E-Type

A rare opportunity for us to work on such a classic piece of British engineering. This project is work in progress and has involved virtually all aspects of classic car restoration. We've used the services of one of our contacts for some of the panel fabrication as he worked for Jaguar on these very models !

Mini Cooper S 1996

This 1996 Mini Cooper S arrived with us in a fairly sad state and required a full restoration of the shell, floor pan and much much more. We set about removing any signs of rust from the entire vehicle. Luckily none of the rot was near structural parts so we were able to carry out some fine detailing a bit of welding and eventually the shell came good.

BMW M6 635CSi 1988

Local BMW enthusiast arrived with not one but two of these classics. A fantastic job for us with a realistic budget to strip both cars back to bare metal and restore to their former glory. Both of these cars arrived in good condition for their age, with relatively low mileage and clearly cared for well. However, at 20 years old plus, most panels required some form of attention so the decision was made to go back to the bare metal.

Triumph Herald 1967

I've always liked these classic Triumphs since i was a child and owned a couple of my own over the years. I was very happy to be asked to carry out a full restoration job on this one including a full interior make over. With only small amounts of rust the car was in great condition for its age and proved to be a very satisfying job in deed. With much attention to the chrome detail and trim we feel that this Herald looks like new.
